Verified sellers. Clear fees. Safer workflows.
Gideon Commerce handles high-ticket and regulated categories deliberately. Here's how verification, fee transparency, moderation, and restricted categories work.
Fee transparency
A flat 1% platform fee on completed sales. Payment processing, shipping, taxes, and optional boosts are always shown separately — never blended.
Buyer protection
Eligible orders bought through Gideon checkout are covered. We recommend never paying off-platform.
Moderation
Listings can be reported, restricted categories are screened, and our trust & safety team reviews flags. Every admin action is logged.
Verified before they publish
Required before publishing
Account and identity checks for every seller before their first listing goes live.
For higher-risk activity
Business sellers, high-volume sellers, high-ticket listings, real estate and vehicle leads, and liquidation sellers complete enhanced verification.
Extra care above the threshold
High-ticket threshold: $5,000
Listings at or above the threshold are flagged for manual review and require enhanced verification. An optional escrow workflow for high-ticket goods is on the roadmap.
What we don't allow
These items are blocked or routed into a restricted workflow. Listings that mention them are screened automatically.

- Ammunition
- Explosives & dangerous weapons
- Drugs & controlled substances
- Stolen / counterfeit goods
- Financial instruments

Real estate — fair housing
Real estate listings are inquiry-based. Gideon does not process real estate closings, commissions, escrow, or licensed brokerage activity in the MVP. All listings must follow applicable real estate, licensing, and fair housing rules. Equal housing opportunity.
Vehicles — lead-only
Vehicle listings are inquiry-based with VIN/title fields and a dealer vs. private-seller flag. No on-platform checkout; transactions complete off-platform per applicable rules.
Built for accountability
INFORM Consumers Act tracking
We track high-volume seller signals — new/unused product sales and rolling 12-month gross revenue — and surface disclosure and verification-renewal status.
Audit logs
Every risky admin action — removing a listing, suspending a seller, approving verification, flagging a dispute — writes an immutable audit log entry.
This page describes product guardrails and is not legal, tax, or brokerage advice. Sellers are responsible for compliance with applicable laws.
